We at St. Matthew's love to help our community:

If you want to help or contribute in anyway, small or big, please e-mail: StMatthewsLCMS_10304@yahoo.com or call us at: 718-351-0866.

St. Matthew's is helping the families who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

If you would like to send or drop off donations of clothing or other tangible goods, you may do so, and we will distribute it to the families.

Sunday School Alumni had a Bake Sale on December 2, 2012 at 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM to help the families affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Below are some links to see how Pastor A. Fjordbotten and St. Matthew's is involved with rebuilding Staten Island.

Dear Friend and Neighbor,

We are happy to send you the current issue of Portals of Prayer, the daily devotional booklet.

We believe it will add richness and focus to each day you choose to use it in this upcoming season.

We urge you to find a house of worship here. To live as if God does not exist or that He is irrelevant to your life would be a great mistake.

If you have not yet found a church home, you are invited to make St. Matthew's your home church. We have served this area of Staten Island for 97 years, this October, and look forward to meeting the spiritual needs of anyone who would join with us.

Worship at St. Matthew's is at 11:00 A.M. Sunday School begins at 9:45 AM each Sunday. We are handicapped accessible for your convenience.

PS: If you would like us to mail you a copy of the Holy Bible, King James or New International Version (NIV Bible), we will gladly do so. Simply call us for your copy. There is no obligation. No one will call on you.

"We believe, teach and confess the historic Christian faith"

If you would like to donate canned foods to help others in need, please e-mail the church: StMatthewsLCMS_10304@yahoo.com

Food collected at St. Matthew's is brought for donation to the Staplton Union AME Church on Tompkins Avenue, where it is distributed by them to fellow Staten Islanders in need.

Please be sure that all donated canned foods are in good condition and that they are not dated as expired.

Thank you for your generosity in helping our neighbors in need.

During the Advent season, the Ladies Aid sponsors a "Tree of Love". Gifts of new clothing (winter gloves, hats, scarves, etc.) are purchased, gift wrapped, labeled and placed under the tree. These gifts are then given to the Stapleton Union AME Church on Tompkins Avenue for distribution at their annual Christmas party for the Stapleton community as part of their outreach ministry.

If you would like to help others in need by donating to our "Tree of Love", please e-mail the church: StMatthewsLCMS_10304@yahoo.com

Please be sure that all donated clothing is brand new and wrapped as a Christmas gift. Affix a small label to describe size (girl - medium,  baby - 0 to 3 months, teen - large,  woman - small, etc.)

Thank you for your generosity in helping our neighbors in need.

The Ladies of St. Matthew's sponsors two fairs: Strawberry Festival and Holiday Fair.

The fairs are usually held in May (Strawberry Festival) and November (Holiday Fair) from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

For more information, please go to our "Ladies Aid" page on the navigation

The next fair is the Strawberry Festival, which will be November 3, 2012.

An extra "helping hand" is available for your child to gain confidence and succeed in elementary school. Please call the church at: 718-351-0866 for more information.

Your child will learn Reading, Writing, Math, and Study Skills as homework supervision and assistance is given.

The tutoring sessions offered are tailored to the specific needs of your child, and as a partner with you in their success.

We are delighted that a degreed professional musician and well-known pianist/composer on Staten Island, is teaching her students here at the church.
